What’s with all the crow stuff?

Crows are social, clever, bold, and persistent creatures. A good web designer should have these qualities, too!

In Japan, when one crow figured out how to leave nuts at traffic crosswalks then pickup the yummy nutmeat after the light changed, it wasn’t long before all crows in the area started doing it. Crows learn from communicating with each other and sharing skills and information. It is this spirit that fuels opensource solutions and drives the future of the Internet ever forward, and it is in this spirit that I work.

Almost everything I’ve learned came from a person or a book (which was written by a person). Whenever I can help a fellow crow–I mean web-person–I am only more than happy to point them in the right direction. This also means I have a tidy network of people I can call upon if there’s a nut that needs cracking. If I don’t know how to do it, I know someone who does.

Additionally, I’ve loved crows since I was a little girl. I even went so far as to self-publish a graphic novel about them called Crow Princess. (It was about a young lady who thought she was a crow. The birds started talking to her, and well, it just got stranger and stranger from there. But, it had a happy ending!)
