The next step after whining about something is actually doings something about it, right? Although I'm pretty sure my concerns have been vocalized from at least one corner, I'll see if I can get my two cents in. Thanks!

Chris, that’s a good idea. The next step after whining about something is actually doings something about it, right? It sounds like he's not the only one with questions about the spec's usefulness (it was actually stated in there that other tags would be better suited for screenplays, etc.)While I can't argue with the notion that with each feature, more testing is required (cost vs. benefit is always a concern, beyond just the up front implementation cost.), it also seems to me that there wasn't a very strong case made for /why/ it would be useful. If it's at all possible, I'd see about submitting your comments and examples above (or just the link to this entry!) to one or more of the members on that team, or maybe to the mailing list itself. Maybe then more people would see the case for the added markup from a designer's standpoint, and not just a developer's one.~Koz(More on Microsoft's Arrival: http://arstechnica.com/microsoft/news/2009/09/ie-program-manager-endorses-html-5-multimedia-tags.ars

Microsoft’s (more or less) formal entry into the debate has been pretty big news.
